Stores & Despatch Operative – Full-Time, Permanent (Temp-to-Perm Considered)

Salary: £28,000 per year

Location: Colchester

• Monday–Thursday: 8:00–17:00
• Friday: 8:00–12:00

About the Opportunity

Our client, is looking for a motivated and organised Stores & Despatch Operative to join their friendly team in Colchester.

This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of a key operational area within a small, supportive team. If you enjoy a hands‑on role, like keeping things organised, and want to be part of a growing business, this could be the perfect fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Goods In Management — receiving deliveries, checking items, and storing parts correctly.
• Order Preparation — packaging and preparing spare‑part orders for dispatch.
• Courier Coordination — arranging collections and entering shipment details into carrier systems.
• Warehouse Organisation — maintaining a tidy, safe, and efficient workshop and warehouse environment.
• Issue Resolution — liaising with carriers and suppliers to resolve delivery or collection issues.

Skills & Experience

• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Physical fitness to handle manual tasks.
• Workload organisation and the ability to prioritise effectively.
• Team integration — friendly, reliable, and happy to support colleagues.
• Experience in warehousing or a similar environment is beneficial but not essential.
• A forklift licence is helpful, but training can be provided for the right candidate.
